Mike Wheeler, along with his wife Paige, proudly owns Sit Means Sit. His deep connection with dogs began in childhood, long before he entered the world of professional dog training, and he’s always had a natural talent for working with canines.
After serving five years in the Army, Mike discovered his passion for helping friends and family with their dogs, quickly building a reputation for achieving remarkable results. In 2004, this calling inspired him to launch Cen-Tex K9 Academy in Temple, Texas, followed by several successful years operating the Dog Psychology Center of Central Texas, where he helped countless dogs become well-mannered and confident family companions.
Mike’s commitment to learning and growth led him to join the Sit Means Sit franchise, connecting with a community focused on the latest advances in dog training. He has attended numerous seminars on obedience, police K9 training, and protection work, and has hands-on experience with dock diving, detection, barn hunt, therapy, and service dog training. Notably, he contributed to a United States Tennis Association program integrating service dogs into the game.
A certified Pet Tech CPR and First Aid Instructor and proud member of Go Team Therapy Dogs with his loyal dog Gauge, Mike is dedicated to every dog’s well-being. His mission is simple: to help dogs and their owners build stronger, more rewarding relationships.
Outside of training, Mike loves spending time with family, hiking, kayaking, grilling, traveling, and exploring the outdoors—always with a four-legged friend at his side.
Meet Paige—a devoted dog trainer passionate about helping pets and their people thrive. Growing up surrounded by dogs, Paige’s love for animals began early. Her first job as a neighborhood pet sitter and dog walker only deepened her desire to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families.
After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Finance from UW-La Crosse in 2015, Paige adopted her first puppy, Nitro—a Shepherd/Lab/Husky mix. When Nitro developed anxiety and reactivity, Paige set out to better understand canine behavior. This journey ultimately led her to Sit Means Sit, where she met Mike. Their shared dedication to dogs brought them together, and they married in 2019.
Since joining Sit Means Sit, Paige has focused on helping dogs and owners form stronger, more connected relationships—just as she did with Nitro. She is a certified Pet Tech CPR and First Aid instructor, a certified Sit Means Sit trainer, and an active member of the Go Team Therapy Dog team. Paige continually expands her expertise through training seminars and events, and she enjoys competing in dog sports like dock diving, barn hunt, and PSA with her own dogs.
Outside of her work with dogs, Paige loves traveling, spending time with family and friends, and making memories with her own four-legged companions.
Meet Brenna—a dedicated trainer who transforms unruly pups into well-mannered companions through patience, passion, and proven techniques. Growing up with at least two dogs in her home at all times, Brenna developed a deep love and appreciation for dogs of all breeds and personalities. Her bond with her own Lab/Terrier mix, Daisy, has been a constant source of joy, even as she transitioned to life on her own.
Before finding her calling as a dog trainer, Brenna built strong people skills in the hospitality industry as a hostess, server, and bartender. Her patience and ability to connect with others made her a natural fit for dog training. She joined Sit Means Sit in 2021, quickly earning recognition for her dedication and talent. By 2023, she became Training Manager, and today she proudly leads as Lead Trainer.
Brenna’s easygoing, supportive style helps both dogs and their owners feel at ease. She’s passionate about creating happier, stronger relationships between pets and their people—whether she’s helping a nervous owner or guiding a dog to new skills.
Outside of training, Brenna enjoys kayaking, camping, hiking, and relaxing at home with friends, Netflix, and, of course, Daisy by her side.
